DEAREST PAULINE

Dearest Pauline is an epistolary story relating the true WWII experiences of Dr. Price Duff, a young and resourceful Medical Civil Affairs officer in war-torn Europe. Ultimately tasked with liberating the Buchenwald, Nordhausen, and Dora concentration camps, Dr. Duff survived some harrowing wartime adventures that took him to the edge of hell and back.

UNLIKELY HERO

Duff’s story is the 20th Century version of Homer’s Odyssey—the tale of an unlikely hero whose journey takes him from boredom in England to the gaiety of liberated Paris, to the terror of the Battle of the Bulge, and, finally, to hell on earth inside Nazi Germany’s death camps. All the while, he longs to return home to his beloved wife and young daughters in Nashville.

Told in Dr. Duff’s own words, using excerpts from hundreds of letters he wrote home, the story reveals a true tale of romance, adventure, good-versus-evil, a hard-fought victory, and, ultimately, a triumphant return.
